1. Overview
SpeedWave — Internet Speed Monitor is a macOS menu bar app that shows your live internet speed and data usage. This policy explains how it handles your information.
The short version: SpeedWave does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data. Everything the app measures stays on your Mac.
2. What the app does — all on your device
To show speed and usage, SpeedWave reads your Mac's own network interface counters locally. Its Internet Package Estimation feature estimates your likely internet plan by observing your connection speed and data usage over time.
All of this measurement, history, and estimation is computed and stored only on your device (in the app's local storage) and is never sent to MotionWave Studios or any third party.
3. Data we collect
None. SpeedWave has no account or sign-in, includes no analytics or tracking, and bundles no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not build a profile of you and we have no servers that receive your usage data.
4. Network access
The app does not upload your usage data anywhere. The only network activity is Apple's standard App Store purchase verification, which is handled by Apple — we never see your Apple ID or payment details.
5. Purchases
SpeedWave is a paid app sold through the Apple App Store. All payment processing is handled by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy; we receive only anonymized sales reports, never your payment information.
6. Data retention and deletion
Because your data lives only on your device, you remain in control of it. You can reset stored statistics from within the app, and deleting the app removes all of its stored data from your Mac.
7. Children's privacy
SpeedWave is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and revise the effective date above.
